Conduit burn through is the phenomena caused by polypropylene rope cutting its way through the walls of PVC conduits and ducts.
The abrasive nature of the rope actual acts like a saw and cuts through the conduit walls when being pulled under load as it finds the straightest path through the conduit.
The result is a damaged conduit. This in turn will also cause damage to the cable’s insulation when pulled through as it is passed through the cut walls of the conduit.
The integrity of the insulation of the cable can be undermined if conduit burn through is not prevented.
It can only take about 1 minute for the rope to cut through the walls of a conduit as can be seen on this video.

Some customers may not even be aware of conduit burn through and what damage it could be causing to their cable.
IPD Cable Pulling Tape is the solution as its self-lubricating properties ensures this does not occur.
This is a top selling feature for our new Cable Pulling Tapes.
Other benefits to the user;
Metre markings printed on the tape, means the user can easily determine how much cable is required for the pull.
Cost savings. Pull lines & rope are not required as the pulling tape can be blown or rodded through the conduit. It is also used to pull the cable through. Savings on both material & labour.
